We are running a project related to compiling an Anthology with short stories, excerpts of short novels, diaries, essays inspired by cases with or dedicated to innocent victims of armed conflicts – children. One of the pieces is The Letter. A WOMAN IN THE CROSSFIRE is “a wholly unique perspective on the Syrian uprising”, based on a “diary of personal reflections” by Samar Yazbek. We all owe Max Weiss, an Assistant Professor of History and Near Eastern Studies at Princeton University, the translation of the diary in English. Amina Mussa Wehelie – Somali Outstanding Peace Campaigner awards 2010 (read more in Get Involved). Beatrice Lamwaka, Uganda – shortlisted for 2011 Caine Prize for African Writing and finalist for the PEN/Studzinski Literary Award 2009 (read more in Get Involved).
