Chris Murray and her “Two Songs about War, and a Lyric”
Chris Murray is a member of the Irish PEN Committee with responsibility for the online presence: Facebook, Twitter and Website. “I am a poet and a it is very hard to be a women poet in Ireland, so I write prose, reviews and have recently tried a short-play. I have a blog which is almost totally dedicated to women’s poetry, editing and translating:

Great amazing issues here. I am very satisfied to see your post. Thanks so much and i am taking a look ahead to contact you. Will you kindly drop me a mail?
What is the topic you would like to discuss? Having Chris Murray as a reading is either poetry related to conflicts, or poetry in general, or Irish contribution to poetry. Chris Murray has recently been acknowledged for her “Lament”. You can read info about that going to Get Involved.
Thanks so much for your continued interest and support. The story of the lament is of three women searching for their infants, the women are also lost(or dead) but they do not realise it. Their voices intertwine and pick up the threads of each other’s voice. I have not published the entire piece yet, but it was great to see it performed !
Anyway, when forwarding all the texts to the publisher after the Anthology was fully compiled a few days ago, I also introduced the info about the Lament in your dossier And, yesterday, when Lucina and Paul Finegan advised they would have the news about the Anthology on PEN International website and bulletin, I referred in the short notice to them that plus all other pieces of creative work a Lament for three voices is available.
Coming very soon to you and all other contributors to have a say for the sample of the Cover.
You could definitely see your enthusiasm in the
work you write. The world hopes for even more passionate writers like you who aren’t afraid
to say how they believe. Always go after your heart.
Middle English parlai speech, probably from Middle French parlee, from Medieval Latin parabolare, from Late Latin parabola speech, parable
First Known Use: 1580*
“Parley” is a discussion or conference, especially one between enemies over terms of a truce or points in dispute or other matters; mutual discourse.
The root of the word parley is parler, which is the French verb “to speak”.
Beginning in the High Middle Ages with the expansion of monarchs, a parley, or “talk”, was a meeting held between kings and their Chief Retainers. Parleys were part of the many changes in Europe, especially regarding governments. These meetings can be attributed to the formation of parliaments, which are derived from a similar root, parliamentum, simply meaning “talking”.**
